Open Enrollment for Health Insurance for 2026 is starting November 1

Health Insurance
Dear Nine Lives Agency Clients,

The open enrollment period for 2026 health insurance is approaching. Enrollment will take place strictly from November 1 to December 15.

In 2026, the state of Illinois is transitioning to a new health insurance platform, Get Covered Illinois (https://getcovered.illinois.gov). We also inform our clients that not only is the platform changing, but the laws regarding subsidies are changing as well.

In light of this, it is essential to schedule an appointment with us now to renew your insurance, if you have one, to avoid errors during the update process. It is NOT RECOMMENDED to rely on automatic renewal, as the transition to the new platform may result in system glitches and errors.

If you do not contact us regarding the renewal of your 2026 insurance, with automatic renewal you will lose your subsidy, and your plan will be renewed at full cost!!!

Please note that after December 15, you will not be able to freely purchase insurance plan starting January 1, 2026 for urgent reasons related to your health or pregnancy.

If you:

  • Have not previously had health insurance
  • Want to change your plan
  • Experienced life changes in 2025 (e.g., got married, added new family members, started a new job, etc.)
  • Had a change in income

You must schedule and attend an appointment with us between November 1 and December 15.

If you had insurance in 2025 and none of the above applies to you, it is not mandatory to visit us in person. We can assist you over the phone or via email. Please contact us at info@9livesagent.com. Ensure that someone is handling your request and please be patient. We strive to help everyone!

From November 1 to December 15, our office will be open every day:

Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

What to bring to your appointment:

  • Any immigration documents (U.S. passport, work permit, green card, asylum documents, I-20 student form, etc.).
  • Purchasing insurance without the documents listed above is possible at full cost.
  • Personal tax return for 2024 (From 1040, preferably in PDF format). Providing a tax return is MANDATORY!
  • Social Security Number (SSN) card
  • Proof of income for recent months (e.g., pay stubs or bank account statements)
  • A check or bank statement with your bank account number can be provided later
  • Original documents are not required; copies are sufficient

Important: All electronic documents must be viewable and printable in good quality on both sides!

Please try to arrive at your appointment on time to avoid affecting other clients’ schedules. If you are running late, please inform us!
